Room renewal 2008

Renewing your current room or signing up for a new room for next year is easy.

Room renewal is online this year.

All you have to do is click on the room renewal button below, and it will prompt you to log in to VandalWeb, and then take you to the VandalWeb renewal page. From there you will need to choose if you want to:

  • Stage 1: Renew your current room Feb. 19- 24

  • Stage 2: Sign up for a different room in your current wing (Wallace) or building (Living Learning Communities, McConnell, Targhee) Feb. 25 -March 2

  • Stage 3: Sign up for any residence hall room March 3 - 10

During stage 1 all students can sign up at the same time to keep his or her current room. During stage 2 and 3 the system is staggered based on a student's housing deposit number. This is similar to how you sign up for classes online.

Students will be given starting dates within both stages. The starting dates allow for students with greater seniority in the residence halls to sign up for a room earlier during stage 2 and stage 3. When you log into Vandalweb for room renewal you will be able to see your staring dates for stage 2 and 3. You can begin signing up at 12:01 a.m. on your starting day.

Deposit numbers will not be used to determine when a student can begin to sign up for the same room he or she currently occupies, but if both roommates request the same room as a single, they should come to the housing office or e-mail us and we will check to see which roommates' room reservation number gives him or her priority.

If you are not sure if you want to sign up for a residence hall room at this time, you can sign up for a residence hall room any time during spring semester or over the summer.

The three-week renewal process is designed to allow students who have lived in the residence hall with a way to keep the room they are currently living in, and to allow students to move into different rooms based on the amount of time they have been living in the residence halls. It also allows current students to select rooms before new first-year students are assigned housing.

In the past this process was done all in one evening, and students had to be there in person to sign up for rooms. Our hope is that this new process will be easier to use and will work better with student schedules.

If you have any questions about how the room renewal process works, or if you would like to tour a different residence hall building, or a University Housing apartment, please call 208-885-6571 or send an e-mail.
