  Important Dates to Remember
 


SPRING SEMESTER DATES 2008:

November 1, 2007: Last day to cancel Spring only Residence Hall Agreement and still receive a 50% refund. . Cancellation must be in writing.

January 7, 2008: 9:00 a.m. This is the earliest that residents can move back into their room after Winter Break.

January 7, 2008: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residence hall check-in for new spring semester students.

January 8, 2008: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residence hall check-in for new spring semester students.

January 9, 2008: All students with Spring only Agreements must be checked in by 5:00 p.m.

May 2008 Residents are asked to vacate within 24 hours after their last final. Students who are deemed to be disrupting the community and impeding the academic pursuits of others will be referred for disciplinary action. If you need to extend your stay for any reason, it must be preapproved.

May 10, 2008: Halls are officially closed for all residents at Noon, except those who are
graduating, or have signed a 12-month Agreement. Graduating students must request
permission from their Resident Director to stay until Noon on May 11, 2008.

 

FALL SEMESTER DATES 2008:

Any time after the application and deposit are submitted: You must cancel the reservation in writing by July 1, 2008 to receive $125.00 (half) of the deposit.  There is no refund after July 1, 2008.  

July 1, 2008 Last day to cancel Academic Year, Fall Only or 12 month Agreement and still receive a 50% refund of your deposit.  Cancellation must be in writing.

July 18, 2008.  Last day to request room change before check-in.  Room change requests will then begin again 10 business days after the first day of classes. (September 5th, 2008)

Thursday, August 21, 2008 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  If you are a new first year student or a new transfer student to the University of Idaho, you may arrive on this date.  It is a great way to get a jump-start on your time here at the university and prepare for new student orientation on Friday.  This orientation focuses on your needs as a new student. 

Friday, August 22, 2008:  9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   New first year students must be checked in by 10:00 am; all other students can check in today.

Saturday and Sunday, August 23, and 24, 2008:   1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Residence halls open for all students to check in.

December 2008:  Students are asked to vacate within 48 hours after their last final.  Students who are deemed to be disrupting the community and impeding the academic pursuits of others will be referred for disciplinary action.   If you need to extend your stay for any reason, it must be pre-approved.

December 20, 2008 by Noon All Students must vacate their room for the entire Winter Break, until Spring Semester opening (except students in the Living Learning Communities or a student with a 12 month McConnell Hall Agreement).  Residence Halls and Dining Services will be closed between semesters.

SPRING SEMESTER DATES 2009:

November 1, 2008: Last day to cancel Spring only Residence Hall Agreement and still receive a 50% refund. .  Cancellation must be in writing.

January 12, 2009:   9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is the earliest that Students can move back into their room after Winter Break.

January 14 2009:   9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   All students with spring only Agreements must be checked in by 5:00 p.m.

May 2009: Students are asked to vacate within 24 hours after their last final.  Students who are deemed to be disrupting the community and impeding the academic pursuits of others will be referred for disciplinary action.   If you need to extend your stay for any reason, it must be pre-approved.

May 16, 2009:  Halls are officially closed for all Students at Noon, except those who are graduating, or have signed a 12-month Agreement. Graduating  must request permission from their Resident Director to stay until Noon on May 17, 2009.
